How do you get action wav files to work with your V-Chat sayings? |

I'm usually the one with the voice pack answers but I'm really not experienced with custom sound files. |

He wants the V chat menu ones. To do that you have to edit chat.cs in scripts.vol. Just find the ~.wav and edit to correspond to the new wav file. |

I know how to edit it, but when I looked in the sound vol with the wav files, and tried use some of the sounds (like explosion, mortar reload, etc) it didn't work. I know how to edit the v-chat itself with the generic voice sounds, I just want the action sounds. |

In other words, I need the names for the sounds (explosion, etc) The ones I've tried using vol extractor didn't work |

It could be that it's being called from player chat, so it automatically assigns your armor type to the front. The ~w gets put on by the function, so it might reference your gender as well. For example, when you join an Annihilation server for the first time, it says "Hi" in a female voice, well it's not just calling ~whello.wav, the actual file is: ~wfemale3.whello.wav So, it may not be possible to play non-human sounds to the commands. I'll look into it sometime. Here's the command that gets called:
As you can see it adds the ~w, the addCMCommand appears to be hardcoded into Tribes, it must be the part that figures out the armor gender to use. These are all the ones found in sound.vol, just try a few and see what happens. Like:

You could probably alter the code to make it play it. Something like:
So you would put:
This is just a guess, so it may or may not work. |
