this is hard for me. please dont laugh

x = 6y
y = x+2
x + z = 43

What does Z equal?

Systems of Equations.

First you need to get everything arranged the same.

0 = -1x + 6y + 0z
-2 = 1x - 1y + 0z
43 = 1x + 0y + 1z

Now, you need to get some of the terms to cancel out. Let's get rid of the y's first. Multiply the second row by 6.

0 = -1x + 6y + 0z
(6) -2 = 1x - 1y + 0z (6)
43 = 1x + 0y + 1z

Now it looks like this:

0 = -1x + 6y + 0z
-12 = 6x - 6y + 0z
43 = 1x + 0y + 1z

Now add the first two rows together.

0 = -1x + 6y + 0z
-12 = 6x - 6y + 0z
-12 = 5x + 0y +0z

Now do the same thing with your new row and the last row. Mulitply the second row by 5, then subtract.

-12 = 5x + 0y +0z
43 = 1x + 0y + 1z

I'd finish, but I have to go.

Whoa Nox, you made that a lot more complicated than you needed to.

If x=6y
then plugin x into the second equation to get y=6y+2
then you move the 6y to the other side to get -5y=2
then you divide the y by 5 and get y=-2/5
then plugin y into the first equation to get x, x=6(-2/5)
then plugin x into the last equation -12/5+z=43
move the -15 to the other side, and z=43+12/5

So:
x=12/5
y=2/5
z=45.2
