It's finally releasing! The ATR that has been waited for so long! The bad thing is that its gonna be released on 18th, I'm at a LANParty just that day... I hoped I could have had it with me there but... O well, the main thing is that its coming! Might be buggy and stuff but who cares! So many months have I been waiting for this!

Starsiege:2845, formerly a total conversion MOD for Tribes: Vengeance, is a stand-alone game, built on Garage Games' Torque Game Engine / Torque Shader Engine, designed to combine aspects from both mech and infantry games. It's currently under development by a group of very dedicated community members from a variety of gaming backgrounds, formed under a modding team known as the ClanCore Development Group. The game will take place in the Starsiege Universe, continuing 13 years after the original Starsiege.

The crew over at www.starsiege2845.com will be creating a total of 39 vehicles (both new and old), 10 types of infantry, 82 different weapons and 93 different components (almost all unique and not variants of one another), and three playable human characters. Infantry will have up to 28 different weapons to chose from, while Scarab armour will have around 15 heavy weapons and for those Starsiege Vets who loved that thick, thick SS compendium, a new compendium in the same spirit and style as the old is being created by the 2845 team. Although a printed version will not be included with SS:2845, a 120+ page manual/compendium is being created for the general public as a free download. Click here to see a preview.

The game itself will be released in two segments parts with the multiplayer portion of 2845 coming out first as a free download and the single player campaign arriving later after play testing on the multiplayer. However, VU has reserved the rights to profit from the singleplayer and thus you will probably have to pay for it, either as a CD or as download. A playable ATR (Alpha Tech Release) is planned for release on the TGE (old Torque engine). Both the multiplayer and campaign components will be released on the new Torque Shader Engine or TSE. It must be stressed, that due to the amount of development time after the ATR and the engine changing from the older TGE to the TSE, the ATR itself will be very different from the final product in terms of just about everything so do not think of it in terms of a demo. A video of the ATR can be obtained here.

Both Plasmatic and Sevnn are on their dev team. Depending on it's availability and FileFront's traffic, we could probably host it on our servers for download if their rates get slow.

Yes, modding will be pretty easy, at least so they say. It'd be SO cool if we'd get Annihiltion mod there :D

I'm so going to love this one.

If you din't already notice, the multiplayer is totally free. The download size is only about 700-800Mb's, as this is the Alpha Tech Release. Will have bugs and stuff like that. The final version will be a lot bigger.

So, whos up for a little playing on 20th? Im at a LANparty 18-19th, and want to sleep after the LAN, so I have to wait till the 20th. Of course, I have to hope that the downloaded file works after the first download...somehow my comp doesnt like me downloading programs/games.

BTW thanks for posting that long post Hybrd! Just the main things in it ^^
