Some guy ran some tests with a laser thermometer. P4 with: 52C without: 186C but it still ran when the heatsink was put back Athlon XP: with:32C without 625C and melted. Intels do give off more heat because they have higher frequencies,which means it uses more energy.Athlons use a new cpu architechture to run just as fast or faster with lower frequencies which give off less heat  Top
