I can't retrieve exact system specs right now, as my computer's HD crashed, but I have an AMD Athlon XP +2000, which puts out about 1.7 ghz. I bought that 4 years ago, and they still sell it today. XPs were about high-range AMD processors, back in the day, but now they have FX, putting XP as mid-range. And how long ago did you buy that AMD Duron? Also, I must state again, I don't give a flip what Intel has, this is about Alienware computers with AMD chipsets. The only gripe I have about Alienware computers is that their high-end products are vastly over-priced for what they contain. If you want High-end computers, use a Voodoo.

As a matter of fact, just listen to bongwater. He's probably got his facts straighter than I do.

this deal wont affect me in any way.. stay away from prebuilts.
there a reason they can get the price so low..
like hte difference between a socket 759 and socket 939 processor, that they know most people probably wont understand... |

shodan....there is no suck thing as low quality AMD processors made just for alienware, its called OEM, they sell the processor only to certian companies in the thousands, so you are wrong, also u are stupid, why? AMD XP's are not mid range, they pretty much suck today, Athlons are better. also FX is considered the High-end of AMD but the Opteron series is FAR better than the FX series, much more tested, more stable, better OC, less power used..
So once again, XP is shitty today.
Athlons have tapen over the market gap.
Also ur supposed cheap processors shodan are called semprons fo rAMD and celerons for Intel, they are value processors, slower than athlons smaller cache
Once again no such thing as a loq quality processor for cheap buyers, once called selling the units in the thousands, OEM - just the processor it self no box no heatsink making it cheaper for large companies to aquire it. so before u go and yell at ppl learn ur facts too
ALSO, AMD Semprons are very compareable to mid/low end Pentium 4, so ther eis no cheap Processor ur talking about if ther ewas PC's would be cheaper.
Most ppl on this forum are not rich, so AMD Opterons serve the best. After u pass the 3 year warranty hump , OC that baby. People have OC'ed AMD Opteron from 1.8Ghz stock to 2.5Ghz all on stock air cooling
im goin out ill post later
