The robot in my sig is from Metal Fatigue. Your classic Mecha RTS, but with a new dimension of beating the snot out of your opponents with razor sharp blades to sever their limbs off and steal them, then researching the parts and mass producing them.

The best combination I know in the game is 2 K-shield Arms + Howitzer Torso + Speed legs. Basically a hella tough, long ranged, slow firing tank that moves at more than 300mph. Plus, it only takes about 2,300 MJ to produce, making mass production simple. Now, I could trade the armor enhancement for fast firing chainguns, but apparently they don't fire as fast as they should, and the crap damage isn't worth the huge armor bonuses of the K-shield. I have considered Blade Fists, but the E-def isn't high enough.

AHH with a name like nova cat its most likely a omni mech ,prob from the new starleauge which partales the rest of clan nova cat , which would make it mostly a mix of innersphere and clan tech . but i could be wrong my information on the battletech universe is a few yrs old at this point .
in the last game i played in , i had clan blood spirit trinary that kicked some butt , (go crusader clans )!!!!!

It's clan tech, and is mainly beam-based. The right arm and the left and right torsos are filled with beam weapons. The left arm is half beam, half omni.

It...overheats a lot...

by the way, Zono sold the rights to Talonsoft for Metal Fatigue, and Talonsoft was bought by Psygnosis, only to go bankrupt a month later. Therefore, Metal Fatigue is abandonware, and totally up for download without the law breathing down your neck.

i love assaualt mechs . :) the real trick esp with omnis is configuring the proper pod loadout with out over tasking the heat sinks . in most cases i prefer to walk and fire with everthing with little or no extra heat . and running with using 80% of your total firepower with no heat is better than overheating or in that certain situation letting them have it all with some heat build up while runnig at them :)
i also do thinngs with jump capable hvys that ppl dont expect . of coarse we usally play with 3d terrain rules :)

That sounds so technically wonderful. I wish I could play it. but lo, I have only a lowly 600 megahert CPU with a lame graphcs card that barely runs Jane's WWII fighters. And if it's a console game, I only have a cube.
