I found this on another site, so if it doesn't work, don't complain to me.
Have you ever tried to save a streaming video from a site (video.google or youtube or .... ) and failed to find the url to the video? Most of these sites embed the video in a flash file and stream it from another server.
I'm not sure if it's a knowledge base but it's what I do when I need a video.
There is 2 solusion.
Solusion 1 :
Access the site that contains the video you want to save. Copy the url of the page and go to
Quote: | http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php |
paste the url into the text box and hit the "Download" button. You'll receive the url to the actual file. Just download and save the file. Since the file is either a *.flv or *.mov you'll need a flash player or quicktime player to watch it.
You don't have a flash or quicktime player? No problem. see solusion 2
Solusion 2 : After watching the video click the "Download" button at the right side of the screen. This will download google's flash player to stream the file. Click Cancel and don't download anything. After cancelling the download, click "Download the video Manually" and save a small file with .gvp extension. Open the gvp file with a text editor (notepad). It reads something like :
Quote: | # download the free Google Video Player from http://video.google.com/ gvp_version:1.1 url:http://vp.video.google.com/videodownload?version=0&secureurl=vwAAAG7ggqAHSiJj pW0D3w4aYTUH_x8BYTh4N5rNHbnBVMA4FLCiYw44Ddga6vQu9l T5cWegZFnNHmDoT4BagfjsIPw1DPid-ARP3L924RBooW7kqb7BPiDBKv7kHs5uJNwzx-cP4586ofebsE3RCd-8x2neVtcCaN9fT1nAX9Spf1JRqPygcqzWySDyLPI02s2tbGQsm asGF0voX-xLMTOMD3bLzmlJfEsyFcuqDU2zwZINRJnjW3_xXB_b4ck-9-2OKg&sigh=oJhZA3tCJ_jfBO-Wx6E2RHRMKH8&begin=0&len=25499&docid=2996120051390 60669docid:299612005139060669 duration:25499 title:Miami Heat's DJ Ire description:YeAh! |
Now copy the whole url and paste it into the address bar of your browser. It will download a *.avi file. You'll need windows media player or any other player to watch it locally.
