You say that as if I'm actually going there.

I'm pleased as peas rolling over the AI on medium or hard.

i could never understand settings like brutal, insane, hell etc . .. easy, med and hard are usually more than enough for a game and those setting are normally humanly impossible . you gotta be a mutant freak to beat them or a CHEATER :)

We're pretty sure it cheats on brutal, you can't build a war factory and have a unit made by the time I get three engineers built.

That's the way it's been in all RTS games. And most games in general.

Game developers are lazy, so they just give the AI hacks to up the difficulty.

In the first C&C games, the computer knew the location of your base as soon as the game started and had full access to the tech tree with unlimited funds.

Don't even get me started on the RainBowSix AI hax.

In earlier C&C games they did know, but that made it all the funner! They knew where you were, could attack you earlier, so in return, you had to get faster at creating a base with defense and keep a steady flow of income. They might have taken the idea from C&C Tiberian Sun and put it into C&C 3 Tiberium Wars. How the AI could build one, two, three, or even four buildings at once, but not units. How cheap would it be if by the time you made the refinery, they were making subterranean vehicles loaded with Cyborgs and a a Cyborg Commander when you made your first Artillery. It would be insanely difficult to defeat the AI.

The AI learns too, after each restart. Say you go to capture a corner tiberium spot the first time. You'll probably be able to get up some defense and take out their outposts before they deploy. If you hit Restart, you might as well forget that strategy. They'll send 3 vehicles and people with the outpost and destroy yours without effort.

Our latest strategy is to start building next to their base. We build a barracks just outside their visibility. Eventually they just overrun it by sending mass amounts of units, but it still seems to be the best strategy so far.

What I would do is for like brutal or the hardest difficulty, make two bases just to have to live if you can get a stealth generator or something like in Tiberian Sun for NOD. Make a very powerful main base(the one you start with), make a semi powerful and really defensive second base in case your first base is destroyed(you will need a hefty income about for this) and if you want, make a third base, send over the construction yard or whatever if you can make one, have a stealth generator ready by the time it gets there, and cloak it right as its built. Then make a base with some defense(ground, underground, and air) then just make some strong infantry and attack vehicles and take 'em out by ground and air, if you want, air too but it'll take more $$$ and more time.

In Tiberium Wars, by the time you have 60,000 dollars, they have 180,000. They have about three to six times as much money and hundreds of units.
